registration start August 16. Membership registration is open to all
until all the spots are filled up. There are only a limited number of
spots. First people who register and pay gets in first.
Membership fees are $230.00/one day, $440.00/two days. Those 55+ get a
$10 discount.

Welcome to Drop-In Badminton in the
Hounsfield Heights/Briar Hill Community Gym
(No community association membership is required)
This Drop-In Badminton group is a " Grassroots Recreational"
group - encouraging all ages and all levels of experience to enjoy
the game of badminton. Parents and grandparents have an opportunity
to enjoy the game with the youngsters in the family.

EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2008
Drop-in fee is $3.00 per day --- Pay at the Gym Front Office.
This fee is to be paid by every player . (Adults, Visitors/Guests,
Students).
Drop-In badminton play is organized as follows:
There are two seasons for a 12 month period:
1. September 1 To January 31 (5 months)
2. February 1 To August 31 (7 months)
Birds are supplied by the club, -- a bird fee is collected from all
players.
Bird fees are payable
in the gym to a volunteer coordinator :-
Please Pay before Play ----- Thank You.
ADULT PLAYERS-- $3.00 per season - due SEP 1 and FEB 1 ($6.00 FOR 12
months)
VISITORS/GUESTS -- ADULT --$1.00 for each day drop-in. If you come
three times and pay the $3.00 maximum per season, your fees are paid
up for the balance of that season.
If players invite/bring a guest(s) -- please explain the above fees
(the $4.00 and the $1.00) to them, or you are responsible for their
fees.
STUDENTS -- $2.00 each per season . A survey was taken in the fall
of 2007 and the majority voted for a bird fee.
Each player is requested to sign in every day for the statistical
records.
NEWCOMERS -- The first time playing -- Please sign in with your
first and last name for the "Record of Players" list. A phone number
is optional -- should you need to be contacted.
Please change shoes - in the coat room -
from outdoor shoes to indoor non-marking court shoes.

Note: All players are required by
the badminton centre to purchase an annual membership of $20.
Rules:
1. Doubles –
Play with 3/4 different partners in games out of 21 points and the
scores of the best 3 games will be recorded.
2. Singles – Play against 3 different
opponents in games out of 21 points and the scores of all 3 games
will be recorded.
3. Prayers will become INACTIVE
after being absent for 2 sessions in a row. (Inactive players will
be removed from the ladder and their scores will restart from zero
upon their return to the ladder)
4. All ladder games will begin at
7:40pm SHARP, hence, all participants will have to sign-in before
7:30pm. Those who sign-in after 7:30pm will have to sit-out/be a
referee for the duration of the ladder games or once a group
finishes their games.
5. Leisure Play: between 7:00pm –
7:40pm / 8:30pm-9:00pm or upon the completion of the ladder games.

Place Male (Value - Increases as the number of participants
increase)
1st Place Female (Value - Increases as the number of
participants increase)

prizes would become available throughout the season.

We are Calgary's largest co-ed sports league provider offering Leagues,
Tournaments and Events for adults. Our goal is to provide you with the
best sport and social experience in Calgary. There are NO membership
fees.
Our Badminton Leagues run on a quarterly basis with the
upcoming Winter season beginning the week of January 13th. We offer
co-ed and open Badminton divisions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday that
consist of 18 matches (2 per night) over 9 weeks. Total cost is
$180/team and all skill levels are welcome.

FCR Badminton League at Sunridge Badminton Centre. This League is opened for anyone (male/female) who is interested in competitive badminton league playing. Feather shuttles will be provided. Date: Wednesdays (June 27 - Nov 7, 2012) 20 weeks session.

General Rules
1. Players have to be punctual arriving at or before 8pm if warm up is needed. League games starts at 8.15pm sharp.
2. Games are set at 21 points system.
3. Total points will be added at the end of the day and players will be ranked accordingly.
4. Drop-in spots are subject to first come first serve at a cost of $9 each (cash only). Drop-in requests must be received by Tuesday.
5. Emails will be sent out every Sunday night to show your ranking for next Wed.
6. All Players (regular or drop-in) who can't make it will require to give the organizer a 24 hours notice or else name would be marked as UR -"unreliable".
7. Open courts will be available at the end of all league games.
8. League Full Payment must be received on / by the first Wednesday of the league.
9. Player ranked 1st will be promoted to the next higher group (if you are already 1st then it will just be defending your position) while player ranked last will be demoted to the next group (if you are the last in the league, try harder!! :)).
10. Note: If you are first time playing at Sunridge Badminton Centre please obtain an annual membership at the front counter. Cost is $20. For badminton attire, please refer to SBC website.

badminton players. New members are always welcome. Members may use
the network's database to find other badminton players at their
level. Doubles players may join one of the Host Clubs participating
in the network. Singles players may participate in programs set up
